Overview

Southwestern Christian University (SCU), located in Bethany, Oklahoma, is a private, four-year Pentecostal university established in 1946. In close proximity to the major metropolitan area of Oklahoma City, SCU offers students both a suburban campus environment and access to urban resources. The university's campus features modern facilities juxtaposed with green spaces to cultivate a focused but relaxed academic atmosphere. SCU provides on-campus housing options, including residence halls and student apartments, to accommodate its student population. While SCU maintains a Christian ethos, it offers a range of undergraduate degree programs across various disciplines, with Business, Family Studies, and Theological and Ministerial Studies being among the most pursued majors. The university operates under a moderately selective admissions policy. Although not nationally recognized for its athletic programs, SCU competes in collegiate sports as the Eagles within the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
