Overview

John Carroll University is a private Jesuit university founded in 1886, located in University Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Striking for its Georgian architecture, the campus provides a traditional collegiate ambience. Primarily an undergraduate institution, John Carroll offers a range of majors with strengths in Business, Sciences, and the Liberal Arts. The university fosters a rigorous academic environment with a moderate level of application selectivity. John Carroll is residential, with a majority of students living on campus across various housing options, including traditional dormitories, suites, and townhouse apartments. Although not primarily known for athletics, John Carroll does participate in NCAA Division III sports, competing as the Blue Streaks in various intercollegiate sports.

In the most recent statistical year 4,310 prospective students applied, and 3,550 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 566 enrolled in the school.  2,577 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 345 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $45,490 plus fees of $1,800.
