Overview

Elon University is a private liberal arts institution located in Elon, North Carolina, situated in a suburban area and approximately a 35-minute drive east from the major city of Greensboro. Established in 1889, the university is recognized for its distinctive Georgian-style brick architecture throughout a 656-acre campus. Elon's academic offerings are distributed among six schools, with a noted emphasis on programs in Communications, Business, Education, and a commitment to experiential learning. Application to Elon University is moderately selective, catering to a diverse undergraduate student body. The university provides on-campus living options, with a variety of residential halls and communities to support its primarily residential undergraduate population. While Elon has a number of athletic teams competing in the NCAA Division I Colonial Athletic Association, it is particularly known for its men's soccer and baseball teams.

In the most recent statistical year 17,551 prospective students applied, and 13,069 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,692 enrolled in the school.  6,891 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 232 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $41,734 plus fees of $507.
