Baker University, established in 1858 and located in Baldwin City, Kansas, holds the distinction of being the state's first university. Approximately 45 minutes southwest of Kansas City, the university's historic campus is characterized by its gothic architecture, notably the iconic Osborne Chapel, which was relocated from Sproxton, England.
