Elgin Community College (ECC) is a public, two-year institution located in Elgin, Illinois, approximately 35 miles northwest of Chicago. Established in 1949, ECC serves the educational and career training needs of its district residents. The college offers a range of programs in diverse fields, including popular majors such as nursing, culinary arts, and liberal arts and sciences. With an open admissions policy, ECC attracts students looking for certificate programs and associate degree courses, along with those planning to transfer to four-year institutions.
