Overview

The Catholic University of America, located in Washington, D.C., is a private institution that stands as the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States, established in 1887. Nestled within a residential neighborhood of the nation's capital, the university resides within close proximity to the many cultural, political, and historical resources of the city. Its collegiate gothic architecture defines much of the campus aesthetic, offering a contrast between traditional design and modern educational facilities. The university is comprised of 12 schools that provide a range of bachelor?s, master?s, and doctoral degrees, with notable programs in Theology and Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Social Work. With a moderately selective admissions process, Catholic University attracts a diverse undergraduate population. It emphasizes a robust living and learning environment with a large percentage of students residing on campus in residence halls. While Catholic University does participate in NCAA Division III sports, it is not primarily recognized for its athletic programs.

In the most recent statistical year 5,801 prospective students applied, and 4,965 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 765 enrolled in the school.  3,614 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,354 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $53,040 plus fees of $1,146.
