Overview

The University of Connecticut-Tri-Campus in Waterbury is one of the regional campuses of the University of Connecticut system, nestled in the Naugatuck River Valley within proximity to Hartford, Connecticut. Established with the primary intent of providing UConn's resources to diverse populations within the state, this campus offers an urban collegiate atmosphere amid a smaller-city backdrop, allowing for a mix of both personal attention and the broader UConn experience. Reflecting the architectural heritage of the region, the campus buildings provide a modern educational environment. The academic profile of the campus includes a variety of undergraduate programs, with a focus on offering introductory and first- and second-year classes in popular majors, preparing students for transition to the main campus in Storrs to complete their degrees. The University of Connecticut-Tri-Campus does not have an extensive athletic program and does not offer on-campus housing, catering instead to commuters and local students. In the most recent statistical year 1,678 prospective students applied, and 1,643 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 240 enrolled in the school.  696 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 72 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $15,672 plus fees of $968.
