Ventura College

Overview

Ventura College is a public community college situated in Ventura, California, approximately 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Established in 1925, the college occupies a suburban campus that offers a diverse array of educational opportunities within its picturesque coastal setting. The college maintains an open admissions policy, providing access to higher education for a broad student population. Academically, Ventura College is recognized for its strong programs in liberal arts and sciences, business, and the health fields. While on-campus housing is not available, the college serves as a commuter campus for its student body. Ventura College does not have a particular architectural style that defines its campus buildings. The school features an athletics program known as the Pirates, but it is not primarily known for athletics. Instead, Ventura College focuses on offering a comprehensive educational experience enabling students to transfer to four-year institutions or enhance their career readiness through vocational and technical training.

Ventura College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  3,183 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 7,376 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,344 plus fees of $54.
