UCR improved a lot on both academic and the campus. Their ranking had been changed to more prestige and rank up higher in 2019. I think the bad reputation is just the geographic location which is located at Inland empire with no ocean or beaches. But remember it is close to the mountain and near the so.cal ski resort. Big Bear lake.
