Santa Barbara City College (SBCC), located in Santa Barbara, California, is a public community college established in 1909. It offers a picturesque campus environment set on a 74-acre site overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Barbara Channel Islands. The college features a range of architectural styles with Spanish influence particularly evident and a focus on integrating its facilities with the coastal landscape. With open-access admissions, SBCC provides a less competitive application process, aiming to serve a diverse student body. The college is known for its strong programs in liberal arts and sciences, as well as popular majors such as Nursing, Business Administration, and Marine Biology. While SBCC does not provide on-campus housing, it facilitates resources for students to find local accommodations. Santa Barbara City College does not emphasize a large-scale athletic program, hence its sports teams, known as the Vaqueros, maintain a lower profile compared to larger institutions.

Santa Barbara City College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  5,778 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 6,897 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,104 plus fees of $130.
