Moorpark College

Overview

Moorpark College, a public community college, is situated in the suburban setting of Moorpark, California, approximately 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Founded in 1967, the college occupies a campus enriched with distinctive Californian architecture and spans over 150 acres, providing an academic environment nestled within a mild climate region. Moorpark College offers a diverse array of associate degree and certificate programs, with notable emphasis on the sciences, technology, and performing arts. The college facilitates transfer opportunities to four-year institutions, and its Exotic Animal Training and Management program is particularly unique among community colleges. There are no on-campus housing facilities available at Moorpark College. With an open admissions policy, the college has a general approach to acceptance, making higher education accessible to a broad student demographic. Moorpark College does not have a significant focus on intercollegiate athletics, thus its athletic program and team name are not prominent features of the institution.

Moorpark College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  4,229 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 8,255 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,344 plus fees of $54.
