University of the Ozarks

Overview

University of the Ozarks, founded in 1834 and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), is a private liberal arts college located in Clarksville, Arkansas. The institution rests on a 30-acre campus set in a rural environment and showcases a blend of historic and modern architecture, providing facilities for both academic and residential life. Ozarks is approximately an hour and a half drive from Little Rock, the state's capital and largest city. Known for a commitment to providing an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, the university offers a range of undergraduate programs, with notable strengths in education, physical sciences, and business-related fields. The selective admissions process emphasizes not just academic achievement but also community involvement and character. In the most recent statistical year 2,157 prospective students applied, and 1,296 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 229 enrolled in the school.  770 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 14 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $24,950 plus fees of $1,000.
