Overview

The University of Montevallo, established in 1896, is Alabama's only public liberal arts college, offering a distinctive educational experience rooted in interdisciplinary learning. Located in the historic city of Montevallo, within an hour's drive of Birmingham, the institution enjoys a serene campus noted for its Neo-classical architecture and designated as a National Historic District. In the most recent statistical year 6,426 prospective students applied, and 3,845 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 544 enrolled in the school.  2,123 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 463 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $12,090 plus fees of $1,620.
