Stillman College

Overview

Stillman College, founded in 1876 and located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is a private historically black liberal arts college. The campus is situated on 105 acres with a mix of contemporary and historic brick buildings, reflecting its rich heritage while supporting modern academic needs. Stillman is in proximity to Birmingham, the state's largest city, approximately 57 miles away. The institution offers a variety of undergraduate programs, with Business Administration and Biological Sciences being among the most pursued majors. Stillman provides on-campus housing options, with several residence halls available for students preferring to live within the college community. While the college maintains a selection process that is moderately selective, it is also committed to access and educational opportunity. Known for fostering leadership and service, Stillman does not have a broad recognition for its athletics programs, focusing instead on their academic and community engagement initiatives.

In the most recent statistical year 1,791 prospective students applied, and 1,156 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 149 enrolled in the school.  608 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 136 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $9,548 plus fees of $1,844.
